2007 Heroes From The Heart Gala

I would like to begin by thanking each of my fellow board members for their continued support of South Shore Child Guidance Center. A huge debt of gratitude goes out to each of you for all that you have done to help us reach our goals during this past year.

One of this year's past highlights was our "2007 Heroes from the Heart Gala" held on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the DeSeversky Center located on the grounds of the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, New York.

This year's Gala was chaired by Saul Zabell, Esq. of Zabell & Associates, P.C. Mr. Zabell is a tremendous success story, recipient of several professional awards and a thriving law practice, yet he never forgot the services that were there for him as a young boy at South Shore Child Guidance. He is truly "Our Hero From The Heart!"

Funds raised at the Gala benefited the Center's efforts to continue to provide treatment programs to children and families in Nassau County. Mr. Zabell's continued support, enthusiasm and commitment was an integral part of the evening's tremendous success.

A special "Thank You!" goes out to our honorary co-chairs, Dot and Ed Slade, whose ongoing support and friendship is a part of the fabric of our agency.

We were extremely proud to award this year's "Hero of the Year" award to Dr. Anthony Libertella, Dean of the School of Business at Adelphi University. Award recipients that evening included John Jeffries, former Director of the Freeport Recreation Center, for his "Distinguished Service" and our "Rising Star" award went to Jenna Pollack, of Cushman and Wakefield.
